My reference working images for my "Reaper's New Wacker" based on previous work I did [link]

This is mainly a working image and not the final product by any means. I've used the GNU Image Manipulation Program (www.gimp.org) to place the elements of the image I want to illustrate together to get an idea of what the composition will be like (and to tweak the heck out of it!).
Since the final product is to be drawn, painted, or otherwise rendered in a traditional media; I request critiques namely on composition here! My hack-job of photo-manipulation is clearly primitive, yes I know that. I'm not a photo-manipulator!
Right now, I'm debating, stormy sky? Night sky? Full moon somewhere in the back? Broad daylight?

How about a stormy, cloudy dark sky billowing around the grim reaper, but the right edge of the picture would be a sunny sky being overtaken by the dark clouds?
